General and Specific Adjectives
In our most recent class, we discussed different types of adjectives.
There are many groups of adjectives in English. They can describe different things.
Our first group is ‘General Adjectives’.
General Adjectives can describe ANYTHING.
For example: ‘good’ - “The weather is good” / “This cake is good” / “She is good.”
Other General Adjectives are words like ‘bad, great, fantastic, terrible.’
Our second group of adjectives is ‘Specific Adjectives’.
They can describe a specific group of things - e.g., weather, food, personality.
Examples are: “The weather is windy” / “This pasta is spicy” / “She is kind.”
We don’t say “This pasta is windy.”
’Windy’ is a Specific Adjective for describing things like weather.
There are other groups of adjectives, too. Adjective groups such as Size, Shape, Age, Colour, and more.
